1)Personal Background: His Photographer Name is the Furrtographer. He won the A-listed San Francisco’s Best Pet Photographer award in 2013, 2014, 2015 and also 2016. He also was listed as the best dog photographer’s in the Bay Woof magazine’s Beast of the Bay award in 2014 and 2016. He started with his amazing Photography in 2005 when he adopted Giggi his blind Cat from the San Francisco SPCA. He soon adopted a second blind cat named Sniffer. He then got involved in Cat Rescues to find new homes for blind and not blind Cats. He then realized the best way to do that is by taking amazing pictures of them. After a long time of taking pictures of rescue cats and dogs he decided to become a full time pet photographer. He still does a lot of rescue work as a volunteer. You will mostly find him taking pictures of his private clients now. 2)Style: John’s Style is working with pets. He does a lot of rescue cats and dogs but mostly he takes pictures for private clients in the San Francisco Bay area. He works with all kinds of different types of cats and dogs. In his work you will see some blind cats but also completely healthy cats. He does the same with dogs too. He mostly takes the pictures where the animals are used too so for example with a blind cat he would probably take it in the house or where the cat lives. 3)Philosophy: When he first started as a rescue worker and took great pictures of Rescue cats and dogs his major idea was to get the cats and dogs adopted. He always shows the personality of the pet in his pictures. Now these Days he takes pictures for the owner of the pet and expresses the personality. He still does some work as a rescue worker so you will still see those pictures. 4)Influence: For me personally he has influenced me a lot. I have always liked taking pictures of all kind of animals. Last Summer I adopted a cat from the Tiny Lion Cat Cafe. She has a heart mumur stage 2. I personally feel like a lot of animal photographer only take pictures of the healthy animals and not the ones with a flaw. 5)Sources: http://www.thefurrtographer.com/cat-photography/ http://www.thefurrtographer.com/fun-day-daisy-gatsby-nahla/ 6)Compare and Contrast: I took the pictures at the Tiny Lion Cat Cafe on Jackson Road. In 2 out of the 3 pictures the cat isn’t the same color as in the original but I had to improvise because cats have their own mind. Also the first picture is pretty different and the Background is different. In his picture the background was one color and in mine it was green and white. It was also pretty challenging to take the pictures because I took all of the three inside so the light is not that good. In the second picture the cat he took a picture off ahd ice blue eyes and mine had green eyes. The third picture I used a pillow and not a painting. Also I used a grey cat and not an orange cat. 7)Personal Artist Statement: All off the pictures are taken at the Tiny Lion Cat Cafe on Jackson Road. You can adopt all of the Cats there so i went after John’s Rescue pictures. All of them express the personality of the cat. The first one is quite and relaxed. The second one look like its a cat that gets annoyed pretty fast. The third one look like a cat that always pays attention to what you are doing.
